What comes next?

It's like I know the truth but refuse to accept it.
I know you are a dick. You are immature and inconsiderate and rude. You play games with emotions and you
are probably the most untrustworthy person I have, and will, ever encounter.
You are seriously everything I should hate and stay away from.
And yes, those things you do and those things you can't hide make me sick.
But then it's like you hide the good part of you.
The part that sees things differently, that's insecure and worried.
You don't know how to say 'no' and you hate disappointing people. That is your biggest flaw, your non-ability to be who you are without the fear of judgment by other people.
The thing you don't understand is the sweet, goofy, kinda geeky kid you actually are is perfection.
I doubt anyone could not like that. And if they don't, forget them.
I think you shine.

Craig...he went to school with me since I was very little. Our entire lives he was loved...it was impossible not to love him. His sense of humor and his kindness is hard to ignore. It's what makes everyone attracted to him in some way. My best friend fell in love with him. Madly in love. Yes, crushes in high school are common. People often think they found their perfect person and nothing will change...yet a month later they are on to a new 'love'. This wasn't like that...it was real. It's hard to explain these things. It's like the world pulls together and it seems so right.
Craig died almost a year ago.
My best friend lost him forever. She cried for days...she still can't let him go. She clings to every memory. Every conversation and encounter is vividly written in her mind forever.
You, you are my Craig. You are my everything. You are mean and selfish and conceited. You are interesting and beautiful and the way you see the world amazes me.
I can't describe you. I can't describe the way I feel or why or anything. But it happened and it makes sense.
It doesn't matter how you feel about me...I just need you to know.
My best friend never got to really tell Craig how she felt. I never want to lose my chance.
I need you to know you are the most amazing person I have and will ever meet.
I'm in love with you.

What makes something more intriguing than something else?
Why do we fall for certain people, when other people who are practically just as good don't seem to phase us?
Is it perspective? Is it the imagination? Is it something that the human eye can't see?

All I know is I'm hopelessly hooked.
